Will First Choice Red Sea Holiday Village be on BBC Watchdog in 2013?
It would seem that, following last year’s appearance on the BBC’s Watchdog programme, First Choice is again looking to secure a spot on the programme in 2013.
The director of First Choice clearly paid no attention during his grilling by Watchdog’s presenter Anne Robinson as none of the issues at the resort appear to have been addressed for the 2013 holiday season.
Simpson Millar’s Specialist Holiday Solicitors are receiving reports again in 2013 of holidaymakers returning to the UK from the Red Sea Holiday Village Hotel in Sharm el Sheikh, Egypt suffering with sickness and illness.
Simpson Millar’s Holiday Solicitors successfully represented a large group of over 120 holidaymakers who fell ill at the Red Sea Holiday Village in 2010. Lessons were clearly not learnt and holidaymakers continued to fall ill at the resort in 2011 and 2012. Following, Head of Travel Law, Nick Harris’ appearance on last year’s BBC Watchdog show, Simpson Millar are now representing over 230 Holidaymakers who fell ill at the First Choice property in 2012.
The Travel Law Team are not surprised to be once again hearing reports of faecal matter floating in the swimming pool water and the resort staff again failing to do anything about it. First Choice and hotel staff failed to close any of the affected swimming pools or adequately clean and filter the swimming pool water.
Holidaymakers returning from the Red Sea Holiday Village have reported suffering from gastric illnesses caused by bacterial pathogens such as Salmonella, Cryptosporidium, E.coli or Shigella. Symptoms include severe diarrhoea with fever, headaches and other flu like symptoms.
Holidaymakers arriving home to the UK after staying at the Red Sea Holiday Village and who are suffering from illness symptoms are strongly urged to visit their GP to provide a stool sample.
