Reports of Illness at the Club Alize, Marmaris, Turkey
Simpson Millar’s Holiday Compensation Specialists have been contacted by holidaymakers that have suffered from symptoms of gastric illness following their stay at The Club Alize in the resort of Marmaris in Turkey.
Medical attention has been sought by holidaymakers with reports of guests requiring hospital treatment upon returning to the UK.
Simpson Millar’s Holiday Compensation Claims Manager Andrew Tarling has confirmed;
“I have been advised that large numbers of guests were suffering from illness at the hotel. Anyone that has visited the hotel and is now suffering from symptoms of gastric illness such as diarrhoea, stomach cramps, vomiting or nausea should seek advice from their GP without delay. It is important that anyone with these symptoms receives appropriate medical advice and treatment.
“I have received reports about the hotel failing to maintain the swimming pool and have been advised that birds, cats and flies were regularly allowed into the hotel restaurant, where food was not adequately covered”.
The kind of symptoms that have been reported could be caused by poor hygiene levels or a lack of cleanliness.
Poor levels of cleanliness, poor hygiene practices or a failure to properly maintain swimming pool facilities can cause holidaymakers to contract serious infectious diseases such as Campylobacter, E-coli, Salmonella or Cryptosporidium.
