Reef Oasis Beach Resort Holiday Illness Compensation
Were you sick whilst staying at the Reef Oasis Beach Resort in Sharm El Sheikh?
Holiday sickness compensation claims specialists, Simpson Millar LLP, are currently being contacted by sick holidaymakers returning from the 4 star Egyptian resort the Reef Oasis Beach. Travellers’ report suffering from sickness and diarrhoea – violent stomach cramps – fever and lethargy!
Initial enquiries suggest that British holidaymakers travelling with some of the UK’s largest travel company’s have been subjected to unsanitary hygiene standards at the Reef Oasis Beach Resort – poor standards which could cause shigella sonnei and other forms of dysentery.
Gary Rawlinson, Simpson Millar’s Holiday Illness Claims Investigator, says:
“Our Holiday Illness Claims specialists were disappointed to learn of numerous hygiene issues being reported on the consumer forum TripAdvisor – holidaymakers appear to have suffered from dysentery earlier in the year and the trend appears to be continuing.”
“Earlier reports expose poor hygiene standards and substandard food preparation revealing numerous possible causes of holiday illness.”
“Holidaymakers returning from the Hotel Reef Oasis Beach ill in July and August 2010 say that over half of the hotel’s guests were sick. Reviews suggest that the cause of this outbreak of illness could be linked to undercooked meat, particularly poultry.”
“I was also concerned to learn that the pools at the Reef Oasis Beach Resort were not being chlorinated adequately. Shigella sonnei, a form of dysentery, is commonly passed from person to person and through contaminated swimming pool water.”
“One guest returning from the Hotel Reef Oasis Beach suggested that the tour operator Thomas Cook was aware of the poor hygiene standards and advised them that they should avoid eating in the main restaurant – if true this is simply outrageous!”
Gary continues to say:
“I would like to know why the holiday company’s auditing processes did not reveal such serious health and safety issues?”
“Tour operators are under a duty to exercise reasonable care in the selection of hotel accommodation abroad. I am therefore concerned that the Hotel Reef Oasis Beach was not placed on Stop Sale to give the hotel the opportunity to rectify hygiene issues.”
“Our specialist holiday compensation lawyers are now seeking to recover substantial compensation for holidaymakers who have suffered food poisoning or any other sickness linked to poor standards of hygiene at the Hotel Reef Oasis Beach in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt. Holidaymakers travelling on holidays regulated by the Package Travel Regulations should not be subjected to poor hygiene.”
