Holiday Illness Compensation Claims Taba – Egypt – Radisson BLU Resort
Were you or a member of your family ill whilst staying at the Radisson BLU Resort, Taba Hotel?
Simpson Millar Solicitors have been contacted by British holidaymakers who have experienced a debilitating gastric illness bug at the Radisson BLU Resort in Taba, Egypt, and who are looking to make compensation claims against their tour operators.
Travellers are reporting symptoms indicative of food poisoning. Many holidaymakers are returning from Taba ill with symptoms of terrible diarrhoea, stomach cramps and vomiting.
Simon Lomax, Simpson Millar’s Holiday Illness Compensation Claims Manager says:
“We are being contacted by holidaymakers who have reported being treated with Steptoquin, a drug which is banned in the UK due to its side effects for their gastric illness bug. Other guests at the Radisson BLU Resort have been given Antinal tablets – a broad spectrum intestinal antiseptic used for the treatment of diarrhoea and gastroenteritis.”
“Antinal is not effective against viruses indicative of the fact that the doctors prescribing the drugs suspect a bacterial infection such as Salmonella – E Coli – Campylobacter or Shigella.”
“We have received complaints about poor hygiene practices in the hotel restaurants – birds which are known to spread infection are flying and landing in restaurant areas. Where birds feed they defecate and contaminate food and water!”
“Further reports are due and we are expecting the results of medical samples soon.”
“Holiday Representatives should be directing those suffering from sickness to an English speaking doctor. UK Holidaymakers should not take medication which is deemed unsafe in most countries.”
“It is our intention to seek compensation for those holidaymakers who experience sickness due to unacceptable hygiene standards or food poisoning in Taba, Egypt. British holidaymakers should not be subjected to poor hygiene standards whilst on package holidays with a UK tour operator such as Thomas Cook or First Choice Holidays.”
