E Coli at Hotel Residence Golf in Tunisia – Holiday Illness Compensation
Were you ill whilst staying at the Hotel Residence Golf in Port El Kantaoui, Tunisia?
Simpson Millar Solicitors have received enquiries from travellers’ reporting illness at the Residence Golf Hotel in Port El Kantaoui, Tunisia! Holidaymakers have been struck down by violent episodes of sickness and diarrhoea, many complaining about the choice and quality of the food served at the Hotel Residence Golf.
Simon Lomax, Simpson Millar’s Holiday Illness Claims Manager says:
“I can confirm that we have been approached by holidaymakers whose stay at the Hotel Residence Golf has been spoilt by illness. One of these travellers has reported how he suffered terrible stomach pains and uncontrollable diarrhoea. Upon his return to the UK, his doctor revealed that he had E-coli, a bacteria commonly ingested through the consumption of contaminated food.”
“Reports on popular consumer forums suggest other holidaymakers have returned from the Hotel Residence Golf in Tunisia with suspected food poisoning. Holidaymakers have not been able to control these debilitating symptoms with anti diarrhoeal medication suggesting that their illnesses are far more sinister than travellers’ diarrhoea.”
“Travellers’ who return home from the Hotel Residence Golf Hotel with sickness and diarrhoea should not return to work immediately especially if they work in the catering industry or handle food. They should contract their doctor immediately to eliminate the possibility that they are suffering from food poisoning caused by E Coli – it is imperative for those who work with infants, the elderly, or anyone else with a suppressed immune system that they do not spread the infection.”
“Hotel guests who are ill at the Residence Golf in Tunisia are advised to report their concerns to their Tour Representative and to seek treatment from an independent doctor, if only to reduce the severity of their symptoms. Those who are ill are also advised to exchange their details with other sick holidaymakers before they return home.”
“It is my intention to make holiday compensation claims for those holidaymaker’s who return from Tunisia having suffered from an illness caused by contaminated food or poor standards of hygiene. Responsible tour operators should not be subjecting holidaymakers to infectious gastroenteritis whether caused by e-coli – cryptosporidium – salmonella or indeed any parasitic or bacterial infection.”
